Former Laguna Creek and Sacramento State baseball player Chris Kinsey has decided to hang up the spikes and has returned to the area to be an assistant to Hornet coach Reggie Christiansen. Kinsey, who had a 10-0 record with 110 strikeouts and batted over .400 for the Cardinals in 2000, had a great career as both a pitcher and first baseman for the Hornets.
He then spent several years as a farmhand in the Diamondback organization before an injury at the Triple-A level pretty much ended his playing days.
Kinsey is featured in an interesting piece on BaseballSacramento. Com
