Levin Ready For PGA
Tour Start In Hawaii
Former Elk Grove H.S. golfer Spencer Levin has been cleared
to compete in the Sony Hawaiian Open that begins Jan. 10.
Levin’s PGA Tour season ended in late September when he
underwent surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament.
"It
was a weird deal," Levin told PGATour.Com. "I was just playing golf
with my buddies and hit a shot and felt something pop in between my wrist and
thumb.”
According to Levin's agent, Kevin Canning, the surgeon said
the ligament was completely detached.
Levin, who finished his fourth full season on the PGA Tour
in 2012, posted three top-10s, finished 83rd in the FedEx Cup
standings and 68th in tour money winnings with a little more than
$1.2 million.
