Elk Grove, down 31-15 with about two minutes left in the second quarter, rebounded quickly, trailed by five at halftime and then went overtime with Laguna Creek. The Herd finally held on to a 63-62 win.
The win was the second for the Herd (2-5) in the Delta Valley Conference while Laguna Creek dropped to 1-6. Below watch the game highlights, plus interviews with guard Casey Deary and head coach Mat Bradley.
Elsewhere in the DVC, Davis upset Franklin to throw the conference race into a three-way tie for second. The Blue Devils, Wildcats and Monterey Trail, 60-57 losers to Grant, are all 4-3 in conference play. The Pacers sit atop the DVC at 6-1.
In the Delta River League, Pleasant Grove needed two overtimes to beat Ponderosa, 60-54. The Eagles are now 3-4 in the DRL, 11-11 overall.
