Wrestlers from Monterey Trail and Laguna Creek will also be competing.
Jacob Seto (106 pounds) of Elk Grove and Joey Banks (195 pounds) from Franklin will both have top seeds in their brackets because both earned Division I championships last weekend.
The top seven grapplers in each weight class will earn a trip to the State Wrestling Championships in Bakersfield. |
One of the best places to follow the progress of the Masters is the CalGrappler website. Tomorrow's championship matches will be live streamed on www.sacjoaquinsection.tv. There may be a viewing fee charged.
The girls' state wrestling championships will be this weekend as well with Annastassia Ramirez of Elk Grove competing.
In basketball both Franklin and Cosumnes Oaks are in action tonight. The Wildcats will be hosting Merced, 56-52 winners over Pleasant Grove on Wednesday. The Bears (22-6) were down 25-6 in the second quarter of that game and made a furious recovery to win and knock the defending state champions out of the post-season.
Franklin (20-8) is hoping to make the Division I semi-finals for the first time since 2011. Winning tonight also assures the Wildcats of a spot in the CIF Nor-Cal basketball championships in two weeks.
The Wolfpack (12-16) is taking on St. Mary's in Stockton in a Division II second round game.
