It was a light evening of high school football locally. The biggest reason is that since the Sac-Joaquin Section went with a "zero week", adding an 11th week to the regular season, many coaches schedule a bye between their non-conference and league games.
Both the Delta League and the Metro Conference open play next Friday night. The big game will be Grant at Franklin in the Delta. Elk Grove will host Davis, while Monterey Trail will be at Sheldon. Pleasant Grove will be at Jesuit on Saturday.
Cosumnes Oaks will open the Capital Valley Conference season at Oakmont.
Florin will open the Metro Conference action with a home game against McClatchy. Valley will take on Laguna Creek at C.R.C.
